Parade Policy & Terms

ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE PRIDE PARADE MUST AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS, MESSAGING AND FEES. YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE WILL ALLOW YOU TO CONTINUE WITH REGISTRATION.

The Windsor-Essex Pride Fest retains the right to refuse any application without liability. The Windsor-Essex Pride Fest retains the right to cancel “Pride Fest” or “Pride Events” at any time, in part or in full, without liability. The act of receiving an application shall not be deemed to impart or imply any obligation for the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest to accept any bid or application. Upon approval of an application, the successful applicant will be notified via email of their acceptance into the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest Parade. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

For the sake of this Application, we define “Participants” to mean all individuals, groups, organizations, businesses, labour unions, political parties, charities, foundations, government entities, or entities that receive all or the majority of their funding from government such as hospitals or school boards. In the case of a Participant that consists of more than one individual, the person named in this Application declares they are duly authorized to submit this Application and bind the Participant to all the terms outlined herein.

General Terms
  • The Applicant must fully complete and sign the Pride Fest Parade Application form and said application must be received by Windsor-Essex Pride Fest no later than seven (7) days before the Pride Parade event date. Applications received after this deadline are considered late and may not be accepted.
  • The Applicant must submit payment online and video/image in accordance with the pricing chart below. Participants are required to bring proof of payment with them on the date of the Parade.
  • The Applicant confirms that they have the assume full responsibility for the behavior of all persons participating in their contingent falling under this application.
  • All Applicants must abide by any instruction or direction given by Windsor-Essex Pride Fest board, staff, volunteers and any related or hired organization ie. Windsor Police Services, security, etc.
  • The Applicant operates in a manner consistent with the celebration of Pride Fest and the positive value of diversity and identity in the LGBTQ2S+ and allied communities.
  • The Applicant hereby declares that policies upholding equal opportunity and non-discrimination on the grounds of Race, Creed, National Origin, Religious or Political affiliation, Sex, Age, Personal or Family Relationships, Disabilities, Income Restrictions, Union Affiliation, Sexual Orientation and Gender is prohibited by the organization/business or individual.
  • Applicant agrees to not pause, delay, disruption or stoppage of the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest, failure to do so will result in a legal action and /or fines applied to the applicant.
  • The Applicant understands that alcoholic beverages and controlled substances are not permitted on-site or on the Parade route or staging area.
  • The Applicant specifically agrees that the WEPF assumes no responsibility for damages to persons or property however caused, as a result of/or pertaining to the participation or activities of the organization/business or individual.
Messaging in the Parade
  • The Applicant will not present any messages whether verbal, written, in imagery or otherwise that promotes or condones violence or incitement of hatred as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • The Applicant will respect the right of all members and supporters of LGBTQ2S+ and allied communities to participate in the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest.
  • The Applicant agrees that all messages delivered during the participation in the Windsor-Essex Pride Parade remain non-violent and in accordance with the guidelines above and in accordance with the City of Windsor’s Anti-Discrimination Policy.
  • The Applicant agrees not to use any vulgar or offensive language, imagery or conduct, or display any nudity during their inclusion whether prior, during or after the parade.

Parade Registration Fees

Due to costs related to the production and security for the Pride Parade, the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest will be charging a small fee for individuals, businesses and groups in order to recover these costs.

Individual: $10

Up to 6 people, no banner, vehicle or advertisement

NON-PROFIT / CHARITY / SCHOOL / ORGANIZATION / OTHER GROUP: $35

Commercial advertisements or promotions permitted

BUSINESS / POLITICAL PARTY / UNION / GOVERNMENT ENTITY: $45
